So… Long time no blog post! A lot has changed since my last post here!
Graduation
I graduated (officially)! My results came in July (I got a 2:1) but I had to wait until September for the official ceremony. It was amazing and I’m so grateful to have finished it all off with such a positive event. Funnily enough, I actually graduated with Ali Smith who was awarded an honorary fellowship. I haven’t read any of her work yet, though I am tempted to find out what the fuss on How to be Both is about.
I’m a driver
I finally passed my practical driving test this summer. I’ve had a pink license for just over 6 months now! I don’t have a car yet since it’s all so expensive, but I hope to have one in the near future 🙂
9-5 Life
Most important of all, I’ve had a full-time job for 6 months! I am solely in charge of the Marketing at Maurice J Bushell & Co firm of Chartered Accountants. It’s a pretty far step away from publishing, but it’s been an amazing opportunity for me. I’ve done so much more than any other entry-level marketing role offers so I’ve been grabbing every opportunity to help me learn new skills.
Some of the things I’ve been involved in:
- Branding and re-branding
- Email newsletter template design and weekly content
- Graphic design
- Minor web design and website management
- Managing the creation, announcement, and maintenance of our app
- Conference/trade show stand planning
- Copywriting
- Social media management

My future blogging plan
I’m not 100% sure where I want to go with this blog anymore. My summer plan was to document my graduate job search, but so much happened so quickly that I didn’t get the chance.
Maybe I’ll review books again, or maybe it’ll change into something else. For now, I’m planning to give it a face lift and then I’ll see where blogging takes me…
